Apurv Kumar Yadav
Biography
I am currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, INDIA. I received the B.Tech degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore, INDIA, in 2011, and the M.Tech degree with Distinction in Electronic design and technology (with the final project on high-frequency transformer-isolated grid-connected inverter) and Ph.D. degree (focused on multilevel inverter based induction motor drives) from the Department of Electronic Systems Engineering (formerly CEDT), Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, INDIA, in 2015 and 2018 respectively.
My broad area of research interest includes motor drives with wide-bandgap (WBG) devices, multilevel converters, and wireless power transfer (static and dynamic). Presently, I am also serving as an associate editor of the IEEE Transactions on Transportation Electrification.
Before joining IIT Roorkee, I worked as a postdoctoral research associate at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Maryland, College Park, USA.
Some of the specific research projects in which I was involved are: a 900W SiC-based wireless power transfer system for the low voltage batteries, 5kW GaN-based regulated transformer rectifier unit for aircraft applications, capacitor connection point voltage balancing in the stacked multilevel inverters, topology to generate highly dense 12-sided voltage space vector structures, a new 7-level multilevel inverter topology, 250W grid-connected inverter and 7kWh, 400V lithium-ion battery pack for the formula student racing electric car. More detailed information of my past research projects can be obtained from pastprojects.html.
